Meet the cast of The Country Wife!

The Country Wife is cast and we're delighted to announce the actors taking on the larger-than-life roles in this ribald Restoration comedy.

The leading rake Horner is being played by Ian Seddon who captivated audiences last year as Horatio in Hamlet and previously as Caliban in The Tempest. The country wife, Mrs Pinchwife, is Anya Collyer who is a new member of our company and we're delighted to welcome her along with other new members: Kate Pothecary as the virtuous Alithea, Bryony Croft as her resourceful maid Lucy, Elinor Bengry as the "pure" Mistress Squeamish and Helen Eaton as her equally "moral" grandmother Lady Squeamish.

The Quack is being played by Andy Bainbridge whom we recently worked with in Robin Hood the Panto for Ludlow Assembly Rooms where he was the scene stealing Sheriff's cat! We are enhanced again by the betrothed coupling of Peter Gillham and Elizabeth Howard—last year's Claudius and Gertrude—playing Sir Jasper and Lady Fidget. Likewise Ewan Gibb who brought considerable comedy and pathos to Polonius is the foppish Sparkish; we are looking forward to the results!

Lastly but not least, your very own ADs of Rooftop, Simon Bolton and Paul Sayers, are playing the jealous testy Mr Pinchwife and flamboyant rake-to-lover Harcourt respectively.

The Country Wife is performing 14th to 22nd June at Ludlow Brewery and June 24th at Theatre Severn Shrewsbury.

Tickets - £15 full price, £11 students and under 18s.
